Not sure how to arrange my baby's name?

Question

These are the names that my husband and I chose for our first baby girl. Denaly and Elizabeth, but I don't know which one sounds better. Either Denaly Elizabeth or Elizabeth Denaly? I'm due on November 9, and I cannot make up my mind. Thanks

Go with Elizabeth first.  That way you can call her 'Libby' instead of 'De' or 'Nal'.

Elizabeth Delany sounds *right*. It's a nice name that rolls off of the tongue easily. While Delany is a nice name, I think that Elizabeth is a prettier, more sophisticated first name. It's a timeless classic, and you can use so many nicknames. Delany used as a middle name is quite a refreshing contemporary choice, and it strikes a nice balance with the classic name Elizabeth.

If Delany is pronounced del-ah-nee, rather than de-layn-ee, then I still stand by the name Elizabeth Delany. If the name were switched around, the soft 'ee' sound at the end of Delany/Delaney would run into the 'e' at the beginning of Elizabeth. This makes the name sound awkward when said aloud.
