  1. There are "career counselors" that you can go to.

They do an in-depth assessment of your interests

and skills, and then they come up with a report that

gives you a list of possible career paths.

Check with your school counselor and see if they have any people who are local that can perform the assessment.

    It is very useful tool.

  2. Hey I liked the picture.  I think it is awesome you thought of something more nobal than an actress. We have too many of them even ones who are doomed like what's her name fire crotch  wait Lindsay Lohan.  You have a lot of time ahead to figure out what you want to do.  Best wishes!!!

  3. you're only 15.. your mind might change 10 times before you graduate high school. think of the things you wanna be.. find out what it would take to get there.. if its possible.. with your grades etc.. then go for it.

  4. that's alright if you don't know what you want to do with your life yet. I'm in college and still have no solid choice in a career path i want. I'm sure in high school you'll get a basis of what your interest are and what path you want to head in. that was how i was when i was in high school. if i were you i would sit down make a list of interest, goals, and hobbies you have. sometimes from there you can take what you may want to do for a living. just take your time, don't rush it i promise some how it will come to you. high school is where your going to discover things you never thought you were into or interested in. Good Luck.

  5. Contrary to what a lot of people might say, it doesn't matter if you have chosen a profession by the time you graduate high school.  The classes you will take for the first year or so of college will be the same regardless (English comp, Algebra or Trig, Biology, Public Speaking, etc.).  This will give you a chance to really find out what you are good at since you will be taking classes from a wide variety of subjects.  If it turns out that you are really a whiz at biology and not so great at public speaking, maybe you should be a doctor.  If you find out that you really enjoy writing, or math, maybe that will give you the inspiration to pursue a career in one of those areas.

There are two important things to remember: (1) it is never too late to learn something new and do what you love and (2) never quit!  (Some people change majors 3 or 4 times in college... don't get discouraged if you start off as a pre-med major and it turns out that you like communciations better!) Good luck

  6. I when through the same things when growing up. Your dreams will change so much when you grow.

You will not find out what you want before end of high school.

Having lofty goals and actually doing to achieve em  (like being an actress) is great however (and I learned the hard way) nothing crushes dreams quicker then graduating high school, having no money and no food and being worried about rent.

My advice? Do what you have to do in order not to become destitute and be financially sound but always make time to aim for your other goals on the side.

Best way 1st figure out why you wish to do these things. This will answer what you want to do for your goals will change over time but your motivation for wanting them will not. Want fame? Then list all the ways to get fame. Want to help people? Then list all the ways you can help others besides being a doctor.

The next step is make two lists. 1st one will be what you wish to do with your life. The second one is what things you have to do to make a good living. Like I said before, if you lack a good living, you will be crushed quickly and that is not good.

Now sort these lists into two more. These lists will be short term and long term goals. Short terms being what you wish to achieve now or can achieve now in order to fulfill your longer term goals. For example, you wish to be an actress and or a doctor?  Then I suggest going to drama class after school when you are done or go to local open mic nights in your area. Always keep performing to get good at it.  Doctor? Then this means you need to start researching on how to get the money for college now, need excellent grades in high school and graduate. Start earning or learning more about money now so you can have it later when you need it. Try getting starred in your local theater. Short term is stuff you can do now that pays off now. You need short term victories to give confidence to keep you going for your ultimate long terms goals. If you do not do this, you will give up.

The long term should be what you need to do in order to reach the goals, but the pay off is not quick or even years from now. Your goals will change, that is fine. Go for them.

Your long term goals should be on what you wish to do (like famous) and what you need to do (like have a degree in order to make a living while you try to be an actress.) Do this aannd you will go far.

  7. well look for something that truly fascinates you. something that you enjoy doing. you should take the career clusters at your high school :D and see your results match your results to the career clusters :]] good luck <3

  8. Take internships, paid or unpaid.  Ask people who are already in that profession.  Talk to your school counselor.  Read books about that profession.

  9. Be Both

Being a doctor has a much higher success rate then being an actress. There are only about 50 A-List American actors who do good movies and get good work. Now factor that with the millions of actors who barely get any work.

Then look at doctors. Once your a doctor you are basically guaranteed at least $100,000/year by the time you are 32.

Plus even if you get a few good roles as an actress and you fall off it will be crushing, UNLESS you fall off and be a doctor. Sure your not acting but d**n you are a doctor...that's awesome.

  10. It's hard for anyone, even in their 30s like me, so my advice is choose what you woud most enjoy, not just for the money, and your life will be happier.

  11. try to get an internship one summer, and you could work with a doctor to see if you like it
