A bird flies in space.
The space has glass windows in which to observe the outside.
Bird does not know of glass- its function & purpose,
Therefore bird cannot see the glass and its limiting properties.
Bird constantly flies into glass trying to reach the outside, constantly knocking itself out with its efforts.
It knows something will not let it through to the outside, so it's at a standstill high above on the edge of a mullion which holds the glass in place.
All bird can do is look outside and wonder how to get there.
So it looks down & takes one step at a time, lowering itself from mullion to mullion, wondering hwere to go next.
Now it is at the edge of a sill.
Now a ledge of a shelf.
Where next?
It sees the outside but doesn't see the glass and flies into it once more...
And then again...
And again...
It knows it can't go further. It begins to feel the glass.
Bird traveled to the lowest shelf...
I thought it was finally figuring out the path to the way out, but...
