Not sure whats happening?

I want to know if cramping is a very early sign of pregnancy? i swear i am being paranoid..but i need advice. I was supposed to get my period today (the latest thursday). the problem is that i stopped using birth control exactly a month ago and i am cramping but normally when its my period my b***s hurt as well. This time they do not just cramping. I did have a lil bit of spotting yesterday (VERY LIGHT). but now its gone i did take a pregnancy test and it was negative. Question is ... could it be the fact that i stopped birth control that i am feeling this OR should i wait a lil while longer and test again? what would u do/think if u were me?

I would say it is to early to jump the gun.  If you are concerned take another pregancy test in the next few days.
