  1. Probably due to schools not having sports races any more due to children not winning and losing any more - the politically correct just say they took part and that will do.  In my day, we played to win and there was no other way.  My grandaughter knows that if she beats me at a game, she has had to earn the win.  We have lost the will to win in athletics.

  2. Schools selling off their playing fields probably hasn't helped.

  3. CHINA leads by 39 gold medals, today.

  4. Don't forget about Idowu. All our hopes are pinned on him. Don't mention Christie- he blotted his copy book with the drug taking.

  5. not enough good talent coming through. and that's going to be a big problem for 2012, unless they can get the best coaches, best training and good athletes willing to do the work. Linford did his on the back of drugs, that should be noted. Daley was my hero, and i think he should play a large part in any further athletic committee. Colin Jackson was something of  a choker on the big occasion, , Seb was brilliant, as was Steve Ovett.

There is still some way to go, and many of our young athletes have got through to semi's so keep your fingers crossed.
