Not that trickey math...?

Question

a sheppard was ask by the owner to guard 10 sheeps. but 1 time, the sheppard was hungry and ate one sheep and did not tell the owner. then the owner asked to count the sheeps but the sheppard have not replaced the sheep yet. so how does the sheppard trick the owner in thinking that there are still 10 sheeps?

shephered will start counting backward,, 10,9,8,7,6 and when he will reach at 6, he will start counting like 1,2,3,4 and tell his owner that 6+4=10 :D:D

wen will you post the answer? its probably really easy but i cant figure it out.

he just says that there are 10 sheep or replaces something or someone in a sheep costume. those are my top 2 guesses/theories.
