  1. I think its wierd to but most just want their children to sound unique, sometimes they just dont think twice about how it actually sounds. Lucky for me my father named me after the actress Darryl Hannah

  2. My Name is original and doesnt start with la or de its just a normal muti-origin name so i dont know what ''blacks'' your pointing your narsty finger at...anywayz why are you so concerned wot black people are doing,.....something tells me you dont socialize as much as you should thats what happens to people....they get paranoid and question every lil thing....leave blacks alone.....better go and meet some and u'd find many dont have that stereotypical name....and oh yeah am nt american but when i watch american tv...esp chat shows i see just as many latino, whites etc with name like Laqueesha ..... and so forth so dont hateee...itz not yr bizz what someone wants their name to be.

  3. well you weren't trying to be racist but you did. And leave them alone. Let them name their kids whatever they want, because frankly you're not the one paying their car note. :P

Go watch Hannah Montana or something, I don't have time for your buffoonery

    -waits for thumbs down-

  4. that's actually been going for years even in white families. i've even met 70+ year old white women with names like that. it's just never been really mainstream outside of the black community but it's really nothing new.

  5. Wow. It's not just black people who name their kids like that. I know plenty of other races who do that with their names.

This question is kind of racist.

So.....I'm gonna ask. Why do most white people name their kids names like Sammantha, Josh, Amanda, Ryan, the list can go on and on.

No, I'm not racist either. This question is like the question you asked.

((Thumb me down! I love them! =))

  6. Why not give an example of what you are talking about.

Your the only on that sounds stupid right about now!

    Peace!

  7. it's supposed to be unique. they can name their kids whatever they want, but if you ask me it's silly. i live in canada and i'm first generation, my parents are from ethiopia and moved to canada about 19 years ago. the only people i've met with names like shaniquea or shawonda were jamaicans.

no offence but when i hear a name like that i find it a bit funny.

but you can't stereotype because i'm sure you haven't met every single black.

you, and i and other people might think it's silly but i'm sure they like their names. and after all it's just a NAME who really cares. if they hate it, they can change it.

i'm sure if any person went to a foreign country and heard their names they'd think it's strange as well.

  8. I think that there will be a trend away from "overly unique" names in non celebrities... Too many articles have been written addressing the fact that a "Sarah" or a "Diana" will be taken more seriously by most than a "Lashawndra" or something similar..Right or wrong..it's the world we live in.

  9. why do so many whites call their sons after their father or ancestor? is it cause they are not at all creative?

  10. Yes it is ******* racist you wouldn't ask if it was a white thing

    And I'm ******* black smartass

And NO-ONE I know who is black

Has that in front of their name

Apart from two of my cousins

But they were born with that name

Anyway, why do you want to know

    ******* racist son of a *****

  11. You're not being racist, but you are stereoptyping. Only some black people name their kids like that, for some reason they always show those names on TV and stuff. I think those names sound silly too, but don't stereotype. Almost all black people I know have normal names, Taylor, Ryan, Courtney, Randi, Kelly, Justin, Alex...etc.

My name is Rae and I'm black so don't think I don't know what I'm talking about. (prepares for thumbs down)

  12. i hate each and everyone of you who accuse this guy or being racist. it is an over used term now'a days. no one can make any comment on somones race without being considered racist. racism is a belief that people should be seperated by race, and that people of other races are infrerior or inhumane. thats not at all what this guy is asking. hes just asking why hes noticed a lot of BLACK people naming their kids a normal name and adding stuff...he never once said anything bad about black people though. so calm the %$*& down, or go back to your own country.

  13. i've always wondered what's the purpose of adding race or nationality when saying something negative about someone.......? Is it suppose to add more emphases on what you're trying to say? Are you somehow trying to add detail?  if this has nothing to do with race then why add race....? not to mention that "it's stupid"...................please

now to answer your question.........i say, why the **** do you care? does it hurt you in anyway? that's what i thought.

  14. That's racist.

You wouldn't care if a white family named their kid along those lines, so why should you care if a black family did?

    #### you.

  15. dude wtf are you talking about?

one of my friends who is white, name begins with a de

so how you like them apples?

Plus people can name their babies whatever they want to

& yes you are being racist

  16. That's a French Creole influence. Both of these prefixes are from French, and the names are influenced by the Cajun and Creole cultures of the Southeast.

  17. because they are stupid.
