Not turning on. I have put together a pc at home using a Gigabyte GA-VM800PMC m/b, E2200 processor

Question

I have put together a pc at home using a Gigabyte GA-VM800PMC m/b, E2200 processor and 1Gb DDR2 667 memory. I have connected all hardware. turn it on and there is no signal going to the monitor. I don't get the traditional beep when u first push the on button and the HDD light is solid on all the time. help??
