Not using toiletpaper good for saving trees?

in stead of toilet paper, you could install a little hose on your toilet, or next to it to spray yourself clean rather than use toilet paper and get your hands all dirty.

what do you think about this?

  1. It is called a "bidet".  Europeans think they are really great for washing up.  But it takes water and you still need a towel to dry off with.

My love of the environment doesn't include giving up toilet paper.

  2. you just have container for water, which you then use to pour water over your shoulders, down your back, -aiming for your butt crack with your right hand, whilst rubbing/washing the area with your left hand & dyr it with a towel

  3. then you have to wait for your butt to dry. how bout a lil dryer too.

  4. toilet paper isn't made from trees idiot

  5. I think that since there is a water shortage and a shortage of trees, you should maybe use only one of your fingers so that you save the trees by not using paper and save water by only having to wash 1 finger instead of your whole hand......

  6. Lord help us all should our living standards sink to this!

  7. Recycled toilet paper. Walmart sells 100 percent recycled fiber toilet paper for less than virgin toilet paper. It's soft too.

  8. Most Asians already do that. And, you don't really  need a hose or 'spiget',  just any container for water, which you then use to pour water over your shoulders, down your back, -aiming for your butt crack with your right hand, whilst rubbing/washing the area with your left.

Some SE Asian families keep a small, cheap, semi-damp, towel hanging nearby to dry up with. (If you ever visit such a home, do not use that to dry your face)

That has been done for thousands of years. It is one of the reasons why S. Indians,  'never eat with their left hand'. Of course, good soap even takes care of that..

Handling it that way  does save (a lot) on toilet paper, but it is also, (much), more comfortable to go around perfectly clean, than with faeces residue lingering around your a**s, and probably smelling worse , too.

It's almost a no brainer..  I simply don't know why a lot of people are ignorant to it, let alone refuse to do it... In a hotter, more humid climate, you'd  get  infections and rashes, if you didn't .

What I am most thankful about, is, even if you head for the woods, or a filthy hole in the wall bathroom (with no toilet paper),  to take a c**p, (an old nightmare of mine), you can still come out of it pretty clean, if you just remember to  bring in a pet bottle, or any other container for water, with you...

  9. isnt toilet paper made from cotton?idk, but i think so.anyway that doesnt sound very pleasant yet it is efective i guess.dont worry too much about the water because we have the exact same amount of water now than billions of years ago.

  10. The water we use today is the same water that was around from the beginning of time.

I don't know about you, but I am not going to give up good hygiene for the return of typhoid.

  11. For those who don't know where toilet paper comes from, it is a paper product, that comes from trees. The good news is you can buy recycled toilet paper, and no that doesn't mean that it has been used as toilet paper before. If is just made from another paper product.

If you aren't ready to change your hygene habits, just use recycled toilet paper and try to reduce the number of squares you use, for even the messiest movement, you only need a few squares at a time. Try using 2-3 and if additional cleaning is necessary try another round of 2-3, there is no need to clump up 20 squares to clean your bum.

  12. Great..but you are wasting water then...
