Notarized copy of passport and birth certiifcate?

Do I have to go have my passport and birth certificate notarized from my country of citizenship i.e UK

or can i get it notarized in Canada....as that is where I am immigrating to?

  1. you dont need it notarized, just original offical copies


  2. You should have original copies only. You needn't get them notarised.

    Your best bet is to go to the local county clerk and get them through there.

    If you use a service it will cost you about £60 more.

    When I got married i needed a copy of my birth certificate and decree absolute.

    Had I gone through an agency it would have cost £60.

    I went to kent county court and got it for £5.

    It took five business days only.

    When you are in Canada, any official documents you may need to obtain or perhaps replace if lost, you may get through the British embassy in Canada
