Notebook troubleshooting

Question

I have an Acer Aspire 9300 Series Notebook that won't hold power long enough to boot up. It was bought used without the factory issued power cord. I examined the back panel and the only thing not present I think is a pci card. This however isn't a requirement for boot, or am I wrong? Also can I use a different power cord & if so any ideas what I should use? It takes a 19 volt 4,74A DC charger.The Model No. on the sticker is MS2195. Thanx , [e-mail].
