Notebook. when i switch my notebook on it says reeboot and select proper boot device or insert

when i switch my notebook on it says reeboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key someone told me to put the recovery disk in but that dont load properly and comes up error in big red letters i would be grateful if you could help me
