I need some serious help with notes from the underground by dostoyevsky. I can't find any quotes that talk about how he is egotistical or self loathing. Don't say I'm too lazy to read the book so now I'm asking for other people's help because I've read the book and re-read the book 5 times and I am now working on the 6th time. I'm desperate here which is the only reason I'm asking. Thank you SOOO much to those who answer my question in advance and I will be picking a best answer.

  1. "I am a sick man..  I am a spiteful man.  I am a most unpleasant man."

"But yet I am firmly persuaded that a great deal of consciousness, every sort of consciousness, in fact, is a disease."

"Man is sometimes extraordinarily, passionately, in love with suffering . . ."

"The best definition of man is: a being that goes on two legs and is ungrateful."

"Every man has some reminiscences which he would not tell to everyone, but only to his friends. He has others which he would not reveal even to his friends, but only to himself, and that in secret. But finally there are still others which a man is even afraid to tell himself, and every decent man has a considerable number of such things stored away. That is, one can even say that the more decent he is, the greater the number of such things in his mind."
