Nothing seems to work for Tiger including Foley
Nothing seems to be working for Tiger Woods; even spending more time with Sean Foley who is helping him out with his swings.
Tiger Woods bid goodbye to the swing coach Hank Haney in May and joined the teacher of Hunter Mahan and Sean O'Hair after the US PGA Championship to work on his swings. According to the 37-year-old, he has met Sean Foley twice at home and couple of times at the range but the desired results have not been achieved. Although Tiger Woods has spent more time with his new coach so that he could solidify what he was learning but he was not sure when he will see a change in his swings.
At another place Tiger Woods was asked whether he will continue with the same swings he answered that he was not certain over the issue as he needed time to finalize the details. Moreover Tiger has not made an official statement regarding the change so one expects that he will stick to his regular style. According to the media reports, Tiger Woods has changed his swing four times on the PGA tour as the first time he changed, it was with the coach Butch, then it was Hank and now if he changes it with Sean Foley it will be the fourth time.
Moving forward , if this is one decision Tiger Woods is yet to make then there is one which he already has made and that is a split with his wife Elin Nordegren. Tiger and Elin got divorced on Monday 23rd August, 2010 with the settlement amount of $100 million but even after the divorce the couple is giving constant statements of being miserable with the whole issue. At one place Elin a Swedish born, told the press that she was sad over the divorce matter although the couple tried their best to reconcile but there was no trust and love in the relationship hence the best alternative was to part ways and in Ridgewood country club Tiger Woods’ was telling the press that he knew his ex wife’s condition and it was his actions that were the trigger to this episode of betrayal and separation. However at the same time Tiger admitted that his game was also affected in a very negative way as throughout the season, Tiger could not snatch a single victory or even a top5 position.
In result of the dry season, Tiger Woods is standing at the 112th ranking according to the FedEx points which mean that chances are that he will not be able to qualify for the next step of the Playoffs that is taking place in Boston next week. As to make a cut into the Deutsche bank championship a player has to be in the top 100 of the FedEx points or else he is out.
Furthermore, Tiger Woods is facing another threat and this time it is by the world number 2 Phil Mickelson who is currently playing in the Barclay tournament to either win or finish in the top 5. The result of this victory will be a change in the official world golf ranking and Tiger Wood’s spot will be given to Phil Mickelson.
However the problems do not end here, as the Ryder cup team needs to be finalised and Tiger needs a wild card from the captain Corey Pavin but the way things are going the chances of representing his country at Celtic Manor are reducing day by day.
At the end of the day a quick recap of the problems faced by the world number 1; firstly he got divorced and gave a huge sum of money in the settlement, secondly he has trouble with the swings and lastly his number 1 title has a huge threat hovering on its head so as mentioned in the starting that nothing seems to work well for Tiger Woods holds true.
