  1. You can buy Capstar and Frontline Plus at drsfostersmith.com . The Capstar will kill all the fleas on your cat almost instantly and the frontline will prevent re-infestation. Use the Capstar right away. It will kill all fleas on your cat with in an hour. It is imperative that you do not skip this. Frontline (or advantage, revolution, promeris, etc.) is only effective if the flea bites the cat. Fleas have a 3 week lifespan and only feed for a few days of those three weeks, so you must use Capstar to kill all live fleas on your cat. After you Capstar add on the Frontline Plus and it will keep fleas off your cat for 30 days. Any eggs that hatch will be killed when they feed by the Frontline. Refrontline every 30 days. No vet visit required and totally safe.

Frontline contains fipronil, which spreads via the body oils killing fleas within 24 hours and ticks within 48 hours. Ticks are generally killed before they bite, decreasing the risk of tick-borne disease transmission. Approved for use on kittens 8 weeks and older.

Frontline Plus also contains (S)-methoprene, an Insect Growth Regulator, which prevents an insect from maturing or reproducing. Approved for use on kittens 8 weeks and older.

You can use FRONTLINE flea and tick control once a month and it's completely waterproof. Provide your cat with the best flea and tick protection, right from the start.

Capstar - Treats flea infestations on pets. Starts killing adult fleas on the pet within 30 minutes. One dose lasts 24 hours. Use when pets are likely to be exposed to fleas. Also may be used prior to surgery, boarding, or grooming. Active ingredient is Nitenpyram, which interferes with the normal nerve transmission of insects, effectively killing them. Not a preventive. For pets over four weeks of age. Package of 6.

  2. Try two to three things at once, what I did for my guys was, collars, powder and then flea bath AND flea comb. Three days later just collar and a very clean and mad kitten...

  3. Ask a vet!

  4. Seven powder you can dust their fur safely and watch those fleas drop .You can buy it at almost any hardware or garden shop . This can also be used safely in your home to treat carpet , bedding and gets rid of ants , cockroaches and other insects . It is safe I assure you and I have used it on my cats for decades with no harmful affects . The c**p vets push is expensive as well as ineffective while this stuff will even protect them from ticks .

  5. Don't waste your time and money with over the counter flea preparations, like flea collars and flea shampoo. Have your vet prescribe something that actually works.

We use Revolution, not for fleas but as a heartworm preventative. It also kills fleas and ear mites. In the five years we've been using it on our three cats, we have never seen a flea. It is applied once a month to the skin on the back of the neck. It cannot be used in kittens younger than six weeks of age, so if your kitten is very young you will need to use something else until it is older.

Also, just as a warning, only use flea products designed for cats--the ingredients in some flea repellents made for dogs can be harmful to cats.

  6. What have you tried?

My best advice to you is to go to a vet and get something from them.  Don't buy anything for them from a pet store as most of that is ineffective and dangerous.

Frontline Plus and Advantage Multi seem to work the best.  My two are currently on Advantage Multi and have never had fleas.

  7. nothing seems to work for my cat and kitten that has flees .what should i do ?

answer=i have an indoor cat ,and he has never had flees.

source=if yours are outdoor cats, they will catch flees.

  8. Are your cats indoor or outdoor or in and outdoor?  Once there are fleas in your yard, cat bedding, carpet you have to treat the source.  For outside, go to a garden center and buy beneficial nematodes.  The nematodes eat the flea nymphs and will greatly reduce the number of fleas.  If you have them inside, through cleaning of the cats' bedding, your carpet and furniture will be necessary to get rid of flea eggs, adults and nymph stages.

The flea treatments for your cats from the vet is a good way to keep the fleas off the cats as well.  An interesting bit of information is that cat fleas can transmit tapeworms to cats!  Tapeworms can steal a lot of nutrients from the cats and cause them to be thin and rough haired.  Sometimes, white bits will stick to the hair near the a**s of the cat after a bowel movement.  If you see such a thing it is a good indication your cat has tapeworms.  You can get the cats examined and treated for worms if the test is positive.
