Despite being thrashed by England and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 last year, the former Indian captain, Sachin Tendulkar, believes that there is nothing wrong with the domestic cricket structure in the country.
The Men in Blue became the number one ranked Test team of the world in 2009 but were dethroned a year later by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 and company were whitewashed in the four-match series.
The result was not different in Australia either, as India went on to lose four Tests in a row again, which was a shocking result for a team which claimed to be the best in the world some months ago.
Some of the game’s experts have slammed the national makeup and the playing conditions, which are heavily in favour of batsmen, resulting in India’s poor showings away from home. The pundits believe that the dead pitches are responsible
for the dearth of high quality fast bowlers in the country.
Tendulkar however, feels that there is no need to press the panic button as the same domestic structure helped India become the world’s best side a couple of years ago.
“I don’t think we can point our fingers at our structure because with that same structure we hit the number one spot. So if there was something wrong with the structure, we would have never reached that spot,” the little-master said.
While talking about http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s disastrous performance against the Kangaroos, the former Indian captain expressed that his side failed to dismantle the Aussie batsmen, who took the game away from the visitors in almost all the matches.
“I just feel, you know, that if you compare the Australian series and you felt they always managed to get one big partnership,” the great batsman feels. “We were able to pick up early wickets, then invariably there was one partnership,
which tilted the game in their favour and there were not many big partnerships in our side.”
The Indian team is now all set to begin their new season with the limited-overs series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 has opted out of the tour as he wanted to rest back home.
