Notice Economic Stimulus Payment ??Please Read!?

Today i receive a notice about stimulus payment and it says that filing status $300 and for qualifying children $600 the total it's 900 and I'm married my question is i suppose to get 1200 cuz I'm married n i have 2 kids???

anybody got the same thing?

  1. Filing status/$300 means the system treated you as either Single, Head of Household, Married Filing Separately or...Married Filing Jointly with something wrong for either you or your spouse.  (Could one of you be claimed as a dependent?  Was there a typo on an SSN or a last name issue?)

    Had the system treated you as a true MFJ, you would have gotten at least $600.  ($1200 was only if you paid that much in income tax and most people didn't pay that much.)


  2. Did you file a joint return?  If so, and if there were no offsets, then you should have gotten at least $600 total for you and your spouse plus the amount for your kids.

    If you didn't file a joint return, then the amount sounds right.

  3. It is also based on the amount of taxes you paid in.  Sounds like you are getting $300 for each child and $300 total for you and your spouse.
