Question:

Notice of Results - Score vs. Rating?

I just received my "Notice of Results" regarding a Federal position I applied for using usajobs.com. In part, the letter states, "Candidates that scored below 100 were not rated and/or referred." The final line of the letter informs me my rating is 95.

Initially, I was disappointed. However, after re-reading the letter, I'm confused. Is there a difference between a score and a rating?

Based on the wording of the notice, if you did not SCORE 100 or more, you were not RATED. Since my RATING is 95, does that imply my score was over 100 and I have been referred?

Thanks in advance!

  1. i think its saying because you scored under 100, your wont be further considered for the position. the score is the preliminary result based on your application..the rating is how you compare with others.....since you didnt score well enough , you wont be further considered...most likely due to experience...since you got a 95.  Goverment is based upon a level of experience and they also go by this handbook as well.
