ANybody notice what the 'headlines' are on their Yahoo 'home page' news section? UNbelievable! After the greatest speech ever, Yahoo puts as it's headline, "Pawlenty indicates he is not VP choice."...YAWN..

Wow! HOw pitiful is that headline!? Go on- look right now- how biased WHOEVER OWNS YAHOO is, TRYING to distract from the wave of awe over Obama's speech!!!!

I do NOT get MY news from my Yahoo home page, but i've suddenly been noticing that it tends to have the most biased 'news' headlines...very very right wing viewpoint coming right through..

Anyone else been noticing this!? This is like how North Korea gets it's 'news'...

  1. I just went and checked my yahoo summary.. finding 2 headlines about Obama.. 1 on McCain and one on Katrina's anniversary.

Like anything.. you find what you want to find, especially in an election year where everyone is looking for possible conspiracy.  Did you realize (per one headline) that Obama got clear skies for his big night, and Monday night is forecast for a hurricane strike when the Republicans hold their convention?  Eerie.. but pure coincidence.

The fact is that ALL "HOME PAGES" ARE individual, not the same.  You are generalizing. Personally.. after the garbage where McCain used Paris Hilton for his "celebrity" ad, I expected the VP announcement to come from McCain last night.

It is an election year. ALL of this is to be expected, including your perception, which I don't think is true. Particularly with the internet news.. which you have far more control over, compared to old time print newspapers.  The news will ALWAYS have some element of fluctuation, just because it is what it is, but particularly now.

  2. Thanx Darl, I Just Looked On The American Yahoo Front Page. Seems To Me That The Main Story Is All About Obama And What Ordinary People Have To Say In Reaction To His Speech?

Yahoo Has One Slant On The News Your Paper Another And The Different Networks All Have Theirs. As You Don't Even Know Who Owns Your Version Of Yahoo, I Don't Know What You're Winging About Ours Is Owned By Network 7 Australia. Do Your Homework And Complain To Whoever Owns Yours!

  3. Who gives a dang about Obama's speech? Every minute I don't spend staring at his smug face chanting change is a beautiful minute.

  4. everything is about obama. who cares about his dumb speech or picking a vice president? how bout McCain for once?

  5. gimme a d**n break. really?? obama doesn't get enough news coverage for you? really? i cant go anywhere with out hearing/seeing obama...congrats, he gave a good speech. i think that the news and media is hugely obama biased and it shows. dont worry, i am sure you will get your obama fix on msn or aol or on yahoo later this afternoon.

(and please dont assume that i am not an obama supporter, just being honest)

  6. Barry is way over the top with this saturation thing! He is getting too much coverage and it's going to work against him! You can go too far with that and then the people get fed up early and don't want anymore to do with him!

  7. too bad. he would be an awful president.

  8. American media is generally biased anyway.... there are books, articles and documentaries written and made on the subjec.! Their journalists are known to be easy to be 'bought'. Pay them the right amount and they'll say whatever you want. I guess Yahoo has been 'bought' to create publicity/controversy to get people like you and me talking and get more hits on their websites? It's a political/PR stunt.
