i just moved to a new place and im trying to enroll my daughter into 2nd grade, but since im working in a restaurant for someone else, i dont actually own or rent a house. Now the the school saids that i need to have the owner of the house to write a letter with the notification stamp on it to prove that i actually live there.

The question is :

where can i get the letter stamped?

can someone help me giving me some ideas on how to write this letter?

  1. If you are staying with a friend, but are paying them, ask them to write up a simple rental agreement, and a copy of that should be sufficient proof. If you are staying for free, then your friend will need to write a letter verifying your residence arrangement. Some mail/bills addressed to you might help as well.

  2. Example.....

    To whom it may concern:

This is to verify that (your name) resides at (your address) Please, call (whoever is signing the letter) at (phone number) if you have any questions.

    Sincerley (name)

The person who is signing the letter will have to go with you to a Notary (sometimes the local libraries and sometimes the postmaster at the post office is a registered notary) so that the signature can be witnessed and then the notary will stamp it.

    Hope this helps.

  3. What we had to do is have the owner come in and sign an affidavit. It was rather informal. If that can't be done it'll probably need to be notarized. The above example is good. Notaries can commonly be found in banks and insurance companies but they can be elsewhere, too. Typically costs $5.00 per signature.

Otherwise, a utility bill such as power, water, sewer, or garbage should work if it has your name on it.  Sometimes a phone bill will, too.
