  1. Not many. Schwinn is owned by Dorel Industries (which also ownes GT, Mongoose and Cannondale) and is mainly a brand name for low end department store bikes actually manufactured elsewhere (e.g. Taiwan).


  2. To add to what's already been said about Schwinn: There are some premium Schwinn bikes that are sold through bike shops but they are Schwinn's in name only.

    The Schwinn family has nothing to do with them. However Richard Schwinn is associated with Waterford Cycles in Wisconsin. Waterford manufactures beautiful, and very expensive, steel frames.

  3. You'll have to ask Schwinn.

    Industry statistics are generally grouped by type of bike and not by brands. I don't know where you got the information about Trek but that stuff isn't generally available to the public in general although it may have appeared in a trade journal at some time.

    This is something you will have to take upon yourself to discover.
