Question:

Notre Dame Football Team, why blue, instead of green?

Why is the team colors Blue and Gold, and not Green, their mascot is green, and green is typically associated with the Irish.

Why is the name Notre Dame associated with the fighting Irish, isn't the Notre Dame in Paris?

Why doesn't yahoo answers have a category for College Sports Teams (where it is not one, but many sports)?

Or do they, and did I just fail to find it?

  1. I wonder this all the time: The Notre Dame Fighting Irish....a Catholic school, with a French name, an Irish mascot, and based out of Indiana?....

....I think they are very confused about their history & iconography. This might have something to do with why they suck so hard. Or maybe it's so they can appeal to more people so as to keep selling more lisenced merchandise than any other college. Who knows...

  2. they have green jerseys but barely ever wear them. It brings bad luck.

Y!A does not have college sports section but they should.

  3. Have you seen them with the green jerseys. They SUCK. it doesn't look intimidating to the opponents.
