Nottingham Forest beat Leicester City 3-2 in a power Championship encounter at the City Ground (Nottingham) on Friday, April 22, 2011. The win revives hopes of sealing a play-off place as the Forest move to the sixth spot on the league table.
Billy Davies made several changes to the Nottingham side from the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Norwich City recently. Marcus Tudgay and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Earnshaw started upfront in a 4-4-2 formation.

The game got off to a patient start as both teams looked to pass the ball in the early minutes. The first real chance of the game came in the 12th minute, Tudgay chested a long ball for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lewis-c22173 McGuan on the edge of the box, who fired his shot over
the bar.
The hosts opened the scoring on the 15th minute mark, McGuan sent a perfect diagonal ball in the box and Tudgay slammed it into the bottom corner of the net to make it 1-0.
Minutes later, the visitors came close to an equaliser, but Gallagher’s shot was cleared off the line by the Nottingham goalkeeper.
The Foxes finally managed to equalise in the 21st minute, Matt Oakley tried an audacious effort from 25-yards, which screamed into the back of the net to make it 1-1.
The game was played at high intensity, as both teams continued to create several clear-cut scoring opportunities. Both teams had equal chances to take the lead but lacked the killer touch.
The second-half started the same way as the first 45 minutes ended. Earnshaw skipped past two defenders to storm into the Leicester box, but his powerful kick was beautifully parried away by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Weale at the near post.
The hosts dominated the possession and their patience paid dividend as they managed to take the lead in the 73rd minute. McGuan slammed a thudering kick towards the goal, which was parried away by Weale but only into the path of Earnshaw, who

The game continued at the same pace and the Forest scored their third goal of the evening in the 84th minute. Paul McKenna smashed volleyed effort from outside the box and the Leicester goalkeeper fumbled the ball and it went into the back of

The Reds managed to protect their slender lead as they sneak a close win in a see-saw battle.
