Nottingham Produce Stakes preview: heats three and four
The 2010 Nottingham Produce Stakes begins Monday with eight heats. The top three finishers from each heat will qualify for the second round. The £15,000 final will take place on 13 October, one of the
richest cash prizes of the year for Greyhound racing.
Heat three
Captain Crash will start from the first trap. He won his last race, but took fifth in the race before that. He has had consistent success from the first trap, finishing in the top three the last three
times he’s raced from it.
In trap two is Gert Lush. She won her first A1 race as a 12-1 longshot, then finished third in her second. She got off to poor starts in both those races, and needed strong finishes to move up. She should
have no trouble finishing in the top three in this one.
Rock It Fornorma will go from trap three. He’s been racing in A3 races of late, and not doing well in them. He has only one top three finish in his last six races.
Telmarcs Swift does well when racing at the A3 grade, but has not looked good when bumped up to A2. A top three finish could still be in the cards for Swift in this heat considering his competition. He’ll
race from trap four.
Odell Knight has one win in his last eight although last week Knight led for much of the race, and lost in the final stretch to Droopys Master. He’ll go from trap five.
Rock It Luanchlo will go from trap six where she has had some success in A2 races recently. She has one win in her last six, and three other top three finishes. She should be able to earn a spot in the
second round in this race.
Heat four
Southoe Gold drew the second trap in heat four. She has impressed recently, moving up from A8 races to A2 races in just two months. She has raced in three A2 races, earning a win and two third place finishes
in them. She is a good bet to advance to the second round.
Rookie racer, Rushett Rogue, will go from trap two. He only has six career races to speak of, but three of them were wins, and the other three were all second place finishes. Expect good things from Rushett
in this heat.
Filling in trap three is Lookoutforjethro, although with only one career win in 14 attempts he is not one to look for at the betting window.
In trap four is Madeley, winner of three of her past eight. She also has four bottom three finishes in those races.
Fabulous Passage will go from trap five. She finished in last place, 11 lengths behind the winner in her last race, but won the two races before that.
Rock It Diva will go from trap six. She has shown she can win, but she finished in last place in her only two A1 races. She’ll have a good chance to finish in the top three against this field.
