Durham required 321 runs for victory with two full days of play remaining. However, the team failed to reach the target and were all out for 253 runs.
Earlier, Nottinghamshire’s skipper Chris Read decided to bat first after winning the toss. The wicket looked good for batting on the first day, but Read expected it to deteriorate with the passage of time.
