Nottinghamshire’s skipper Chris Read opted to bat first after winning the toss, as the conditions were perfect for batting. The pitch was expected to play consistently well throughout the match, but Read wanted to put some pressure on the opposition by setting
a solid target.

A couple of quick wickets would have given some confidence to the Glamorgan team, but the momentum was gained back by the visitors.

his impressive performance.
