Nottinghamshire vs Durham – Friends Life T20 North Group – Hales torments Durham

Durham chase was hindered by the dismissals of the openers in the Powerplay, before Ben Stokes showed his side the way with an aggressive half-century of his own. However, his wicket, in the 14th over, put Notts firmly in control, who then went on to cut off their opponents on 169.
Opting to bat first, the hosts began aggressively, courtesy Lumb, who outscored Hales comfortably in initial stages, posting 36 off 20 balls. Hales, who was unfortunate to miss out on a T20 ton for the national team against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, exploded into the bowling line-up, smashing six fours and four sixes to score a defiant 88. His partner in crime was Wessels, who also gave able support 53 off 38 balls.
Both fell on successive deliveries off the 18th over bowled by Claydon but http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Samit-Patel-c2426 made sure that his side ended the innings in style, adding an 18-run cameo to – propelling Notts to a score in excess of 200.
The reply started on a sour note after http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ben-Stokes-c1142’ innings, with the youngster consuming just 32 balls for his attacking 56-run knock.
His wicket, taken by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LE-Plunkett-c1833 (19*) all tried but their efforts were in vain.
The win puts Notts into second in their Group, while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Durham-c782 occupies the fourth spot.
