Novak Djokovic: “I was aware that it would be very hard to repeat the same result” – Tennis News
Reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic, ended the second successive year as the best player in the world and it has been a beginning of the new era for the 25-year-old Serb who is looking to engage himself in those activities
that keep on motivating him to provide the results all the time. He ended the current season with a bang; dethroned the second ranked Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer, in the final of the Barclays Association of Tennis Professionals World Tour Finals and clasped
his maiden year-end title. He dedicated his victory to his ill dad who is fighting a battle against death in the hospital of Belgrade.
In an exclusive interview to the Haute Living website, Djokovic summarised his excitement by confessing, “Obviously, I was aware that it would be very hard to repeat the same result [as his winning record], but that didn’t discourage
me from dreaming big. I’m aware that our best changes from season to season.” He was commenting about how much he motivates himself in performing at his best yet being worn out after a hectic season. It is always difficult for a player to sustain the same
level of energy throughout the season but the Serb superstar is one player who has managed to prove his worth; gathered titles in the tour of Asia and out the lid to 2012 with a year-end trophy cherry.
Djokovic possesses a grounded and down to earth attitude which is combined with his relentless drive that keeps him running. He is the brand ambassador for the watchmakers named Audemars Piguet and has been advertising for them
for the past four years. He added about the company and his connection stating, “We both break the rules by first mastering them.”
Next Year is just around the corner. He will begin the first major title defence at the Australian Open Championship in Melbourne. It will be interesting to witness if the Serb ironman has still got the x-factor to continue piling
up trophies in his cabinet or the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and David Ferrer will take over the limelight.
