Novak Djokovic alarms his opponents to get ready for some exciting battles in 2012 – Tennis News
Serbian world number one, Novak Djokovic, has alarmed his rivals that he can be devastating in 2012 and should not be considered an easy piece after his dismal run in the recent past. Serbian accepted that there is still a lot
of room for improvement in his game but he is not going to be an easy competitor for anyone next year.
Djokovic said, “There's still room for improvement. That's something that I am aiming for. The game that I have is good enough to be one of the best on all surfaces so I just need to maintain that level and always improve certain
strokes in my game by certain percentage."
2011 has been an emphatic season for the world number one, as he managed to clinch ten titles that include three Grand Slam titles. He will be defending ten titles next year and more importantly, his first aim will be to defend
the three Grand Slams, the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open, which will definitely be a very difficult task but not unachievable.
Recently he was severely suffering from a shoulder injury that forced him out of competitions like Shanghai and China Open. His performance in Paris was also disappointing, as he pulled out of competition due to that chronic injury.
He wasn’t able to qualify for the semi-finals of the Barclay’s ATP Tour Finals, contested at the O2 Arena in London.
These performances raised a lot of questions about his new season campaign but Djokovic silenced all the critics by saying that he is training hard to stay fit. He is maintaining a healthy diet and exercising regularly to make
sure he doesn’t inflict another injury which will be disastrous for his world number one spot, as well as his entire professional tennis career.
Talking about his 2012 campaign and preparation for the new season, Serbian proclaimed, “You have to develop. You have to work. You have to be patient. It took me four, five years in a professional circuit to really understand
myself, to perfect my game as much as possible and to be mentally experienced and confident enough that I can win major titles."
It will be interesting battle between the top three performers of the world that includes the Serbian, Spanish number one, Rafael Nadal, and Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer, for the titles next year. Nadal is all fired up with the
Davis Cup title under his belt and Federer made a record by winning his sixth season-ending title this year. So, it’s not going too easy for anyone and fans are up for some exciting tennis in 2012.
