Novak Djokovic ever hungry to reclaim his throne from Roger Federer - Tennis News
Reigning world number two, Novak Djokovic, eagerly eyes for the number one spot in the South African Airways ATP World Tour Rankings. His confidence mounted higher after his splendid triumph at the Shanghai Rolex Masters held at
the hard courts of China.
Talking to the media the Serbian said, “Obviously, this is going to be a huge confidence boost but it’s still not done.  I still have to play well indoors at Paris-Bercy and the ATP World Tour Finals in London. I won the match
but as everyone could see, we were very close.  It was a very even throughout and it’s difficult to judge who was better. We had so many rallies in nearly three and a half hours, which is a very long time for best‑of‑three sets match.  It could have easily
gone the other way.  I think we’re experiencing maybe the best era of all times.”
He battled against the British contender, Andy Murray and after fierce three-sett thriller, he jolted down his 5-7, 7-6(11), 6-3 win. However, he does not consider his victory as revenge against his challenger but humbly accepts
it. The 25-year-old British professional gave him a shocker after a long tireless battle at the US Open 2012 last month. They both beautifully divided their win this year, where Murray bagging home Olympic gold medal and one of the Grand Slam title.
The Serbian professional believes that he has higher aims, which include his journey to clinch his former world number one place form the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer. The veteran recently completed his 300th week as
the world number one champion.
Djokovic's graph drastically declined in the middle of the current year and his ranking dropped to number two spot after the Wimbledon Championships. He was unable to defend his bronze medal at the Olympics and miserably lost at
the hands Juan Martin Del Potro.
The next challenge for the Serbian number one is to perform to the best of his abilities for the last ATP Masters event of the season in Paris. He displayed his remarkable moves in the previous year at a record breaking speed,
he has a fair chance to dominate higher ranked Swiss champion.
