Novak Djokovic says he would not change anything after the French Open loss – Tennis News
Serbian juggernaut, Novak Djokovic, has stated that there is no need to change anything in his game after his failure to win the French Open in Paris.
Djokovic lost to the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal, in the title match on Monday and in that process he failed to emulate legendary player, Rod Laver, by becoming just the second player in open era to hold all the four Grand Slams
at the same time.
However, the Serbian was satisfied with his performance, as he reached the final for the first time at Roland Garros, beating Roger Federer in straight sets in the semis and giving Nadal a run for his money in the title match.
The five-time Grand Slam winner said, “It's beautiful. These matches make you feel like all the work that you put into it is worth [it]. You're living for this moment to play the final of any Grand Slam, and sometimes you win;
sometimes you lose. I lost this time.”
The Serbian did not go down tamely and provided a treat to the tennis fans, who came to watch the top two players lock horns again on Monday. Djokovic had a solid grip on the match before rain stopped play on Sunday and postponed
it to the next day. He had won eight games in a row during the third and fourth set, a feat none of the players on the ATP World Tour have achieved against Nadal at the French Open.
Djokovic said, “We almost played four hours. I thought we played a fantastic match where people hopefully enjoyed yesterday and today, and I was even surprised with the number of people who attended this match today. It was a
working day, but it was still a full stadium.”
He also said that there are still many years to come during his tennis career and hopefully he can come back stronger at the French Open.
Djokovic also stated that he thinks tennis is having a very good time at this moment. He believes that the ‘Big Four’ i.e. Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Andy Murray and himself are drawing huge attention to the men’s tennis. The
Serbian went on to say that there are so many charismatic players on the ATP World Tour with very good personalities.
The Serbian could not achieve his target of winning the French Open buy he will now try to win the Wimbledon Championships and Olympics on the grass courts of All England Club in the coming months.
