Novak Djokovic still considers Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer to be the best – Tennis News
Reigning world number, Novak Djokovic, has praised his all time arch rivals world number two, Rafael Nadal, and world number three, Roger Federer, and stated that he still thinks that they are the world’s best players in the tennis
circuit at present.
Djokovic was happy with his performances in the recent past and stated that it was more  pleasure for me to lift the Davis Cup title for my country than to win those two Grand Slam titles before that in last year. He said “It was
a great moment in my career. A feeling difficult to explain and that changed everything.”
Serbian still thinks that he has a lot to achieve as he is just 24-years-old and there are a lot of years left in his tennis and he is all set and fired up to break records set by the tennis legends in their supreme eras; having
said that he still thinks that he is not a great player than Nadal and Federer and stated “They are still even the best players in the world. It's good to have new faces and if I am one of them, the better. But the results are indisputable and cannot be compared
with anyone from the active players."
World number one didn’t lost heart when he was bamboozled and overpowered by the world two great names in tennis, Nadal and Federer. In 2010, Serbian had to face a lot of defeats at the hands of these two players but practiced
hard to bring control and accuracy to his shots that helped him in 2011 to register the most terrific season in the history of tennis.
Djokovic not only snatched the world number one spot from the Spanish number one but also managed to register an emphatic 70-6 record this year. Recently he suffered heavily due to a shoulder injury and couldn’t perform at the
Barclays ATP Tour Finals, world’s most elitist tournament in tennis that was contested at O2 Arena in London.
Roger Federer has recently gained some momentum and despite the aging factor he still seems to be firing his backhands as effortlessly as he has been doing for almost a decade now. Swiss Maestro won titles at Basel, Paris and also
clinched the Barclays ATP Tour Finals to make a record for the most year-end tournament victories.
Rafael Nadal has been consistent but was completely outclassed in six different tournament finals of including two Grand Slam finals of Wimbledon and US Open. He did manage to win the French Open title defeating Roger Federer.
These three players have been fighting each other for the past three years for several titles and it is great to see that they respect each other off-the pitch with such remarks as Djokovic’s.
