Novak Djokovic to open a restaurant chain in Serbia – Tennis News
Reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic, is planning to start a restaurant chain in the suburbs of Serbia.
For that reason, the 25-year-old top athlete has bought the supplies of donkey cheese for the entire next year. It will require a major investment to build a whole set up of restaurant chain throughout Serbia but the local number one has earned a lot of
prize money in his entire career that he can easily afford to invest in such a big venture.
Djokovic bought cheese from Zasavica Solbodan Simic who is the manager of the cheese company. Commenting about the big deal that has earned her a decent profit, the manager told the Daily Mail, “It will save a lot of effort having to deal with various restaurants.
With only one customer buying the lot we don't have to worry too much about salesmen. It is a great vote of confidence as well in what we do here.”
Donkey Cheese is very rare in Serbia and only few owners are the one distributing that throughout the country. It is sold for 400 pound per unit. The reigning Australian Open Champion has acquired the deal for the entire output of next year’s production
that will help him to make a successful start to the restaurant business.
In the field of tennis, Djokovic has registered yet another successful year in 2012. He was able to defend his title at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne and coupled it with a successful final appearance at the French Open as well as the US Open. He failed
to live up to the expectations of his fans at the Wimbledon Championships as well as the London Olympics.
However, he surprised everyone by beating the likes of the 17-time Grand Slam Champion, Roger Federer, at the O2 Arena in London to capture his first Barclays Association of Tennis Professionals World Tour Finals title in London. Djokovic has retained the
year-end number one spot for the second successive year which clearly shows his non-stop success in the field of tennis.
The first big challenge for the Serb superstar in 2013 will be to defend the Australian Open title in January.
