Novak Djokovic will face Juan Martin Potro in the semi-finals – Western & Southern Open 2012 
World number two, Novak Djokovic will compete against the Argentinean number one Juan Martin Del Potro in the semi-finals of the Western & Southern Open. The Serb is currently in an excellent run form and he can surely avenge
his loss of the London Olympics from Del Potro  
Djokovic told the media, “He won that match. It’s a sport. You lose, you win, but the most important thing is to try to move on and become even better and even stronger from those experiences and try to win. So tomorrow will
be my opportunity to win against him.”
Adding to the Serbian advantage the world number nine is battling with a troublesome lift wrist injury. However, Del Potro is not much concerned about it, considering the start of the US Open.
Talking to the media, Del Potro said, “I’m not getting worse so I can play. I want to wait what’s the doctor says, because I have experience on my other wrist. I’m very confident with my doctor. He’s the best of the world
about wrist, so after here I will talk with him and we will see.”
The former world number one performance dropped her form after the 2012 Wimbledon Championships, where he lost the semi-finals against the reigning world number one, Roger Federer. If he is lucky in this tournament, then
he might contest in the next match against the Swiss legend.
The Serbian professional was the top seeded player for the Rogers Cup in Toronto and won the final in straight sets against Richard Gasquet. Nonetheless, De Potro received a straight sets upset by the unseeded Czech Radek
Stepanek in the initial round of the tournament.
The 23-year-old Argentinean slowly built his worth in the professional tennis circuit. He is currently eyeing on the Cincinnati Masters trophy. Pouncing against his rivals at the earlier round and successful secured straight
set wins against the majority rivals.
The upcoming match carries great worth for Djokovic, as this title will not only add confidence but also secure him a top rank at the South African Airways ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) World Rankings. He needs
to adopt an aggressive stance against the former world number four in the match if he intends to reclaim his lost number one rank and a top seed at the US Open Championships.
