Novak Djokovic will take on Martin Klizan in Slovakia – Bratislava Exhibition event 2012
World number two, Novak Djokovic from Serbia, will square off against the local star, Martin Klizan at the Bratislava Exhibition event held in Slovakia. The Serbian star has bagged four titles this season while Klizan captured his maiden career title last
month in St. Petersburg (trounced Fabio Fognini).
Djokovic started this year campaign standing at number one in the South African Airways ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) World Tour Rankings. He high-spiritedly entered the Australian Open and after overpowering fifth seeded David Ferrer and fourth
seeded Andy Murray, he secured the final showdown. The Serb outlasted second seeded Rafael Nadal in a five-set thriller to capture his fifth Grand Slam title.
The Serbian number one kept momentum rolling and after securing final four berths at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, he captured his second year-to-date title at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.
In the clay court season, Djokovic reach far at several tournaments but failed to conquer it. His superb run of form led him reach title-round at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, Internazionali BNL D’Italia and the French Open. In grass court season, the Serb
had similar success.
The 25-year-old’s next title came on hard courts of the Rogers Cup (downed Richard Gasquet). He then cruised to final rounds of the Cincinnati Masters and the US Open before conquering the China Open for third straight time (trashed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga).
The home favourite, Klizan on the other hand has had much success on the Challenger Tour events this season. He conquered Challenger events in Rabat, Marrakech, Bordeaux and San Marino.    
In the ATP World Tour events, Klizan’s season was highlighted with his first title at St. Petersburg and a fourth round showing at Flushing Meadows. He also cruised into the final four at the Bet-at-home Cup in Kitzbuhel (lost to third seed Robin Haase).
  
The 23-year-old was crashed out by the Swiss qualifier, Marco Chiudinelli, from Rakuten Open but re-kindled his spark at the Shanghai Rolex Masters.
Both stars will face off each other for the first time at the AEGON NTC Arena. Klizan has the home advantage but the jubilant Serb is in awesome run of form. Djokovic is expected to record a 6-4, 6-3 victory against the Slovak in this epic encounter.
