Novak Djokovic wishes Christmas to his followers – Tennis News
Reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic, took some time out to greet all his fans for the Christmas on 25th December, 2012. He updated his facebook and twitter status to show respect for his Christian fans.
The status was, “I wish you lots of beautiful moments with your dear ones, lots of love, health, smiles and may all your wishes come true in New Year. From the bottom of my heart I wish you a Merry Christmas, and to all of us I
wish that we take care of ourselves and others. Happy holidays!”
It has been a decent gesture by the 25-year-old Serb who keeps in touch with everyone through social networking sites and makes sure that he doesn’t let down his followers at any platform. Recently, the Serb star has designed a
proposal to commence a new restaurant chain in his homeland. For that reason, he is rumoured to have bought the entire supply for the next year of the ‘donkey cheese’ (the most elite form of cheese available in Serbia) that will help him meet the requirements
of cheese in 2013.
Djokovic ended the current year as the number one player in the world and achieved the milestone for the second successive year which is an achievement itself. He couldn’t save two Grand Slam titles, Wimbledon and the US Open,
in the current season but did manage to stamp his authority at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne where he lifted the Australian Open for the second successive year.
Djokovic bowed out to the Spanish number one, Rafael Nadal, in the final of the Roland Garros French Open; lost to the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer, in the semi-final of the Wimbledon Championships and stooped to the number one
Briton, Andy Murray, in the final of the US Open. He failed to grab any sort of Medal at the London Olympics as well.
However, a different thing that was witnessed in 2012 was the Serb’s victory at the indoor hard courts of O2 Arena in London. He dismissed the defending champion, Roger Federer, in the final of the event to clinch his first year-end
trophy of the career. It has been another fantastic season for the Serb professional without a doubt.
