Drench in glory, Novak Djokovic, tops the world charts for the second time in his tennis career. He is renowned for his remarkable performance and has very tactfully handled the pressure of sustaining the top rank by the end of
2012 tennis season.
The reigning world number one has proved his real worth when he fought with the identical endless passion for all the major tournaments. Topping the charts all over again in the competitive tennis is the greatest challenge, especially
when all the other top three contestants bagged away their respective Grand Slams titles.
He faced a tough competition throughout the year, as he was unable to defend most of the championship titles he won last season. In the year 2011, he stamped an incredible season when he capitalized on five ATP World Tour Masters
1000 event titles and three Grand Slam crowns and became the undisputed world number one in the South African ATP Rankings.
Summing up his successful performance, he told the media, “This was my time, my moment, and I needed to step in and really believe in my ability. So throughout the whole season I've had lots of success and had some disappointing
losses at big events. It was a fantastic year, where I've had to face a lot of difficulties off the court as well. Especially coming into this tournament, having my father fighting his own fight for health gave me extra strength that I wanted to play for him
in a way. That's one of the reasons I really gave it all every match, especially tonight. This was a title for him.”
The 25-year-old Serbian professional inaugurated the 2012 Australian Open at an outstanding pace and crashed all his competitors with high-graded performance. He established his significance when he laid down the Spanish challenger,
Rafael Nadal, after contesting a five-setter match.
After Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, the Serbian contender’s pace declined significantly. The major stumbling block in his career was the loss at the hands of Nadal, in the final round of the French Open, held at Paris.
At All-England-Lawn Tennis Club, he came across one of the greatest losses in his career. He was beaten in the semi-final round by the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer, who later marched forward to win the Grand Slam title. He was
unable to defend his bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics, losing at the hands of the lower ranked, Juan Martin Del Potro.
The Serbian number one regained his original form at the China Open held at the hard courts of Beijing and smashed a straight-sets defeat to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. He avenged his world number one title from Federer after the BNP Paribas
Masters- Paris.
The Serbian tennis ace is working hard on his 2013 campaign because he is determined to bag away victories for his homeland. He aims to play with commitment and dedication in order to get better on the courts and win more.
