Rafa and Roger have dominated tennis for a long time, so yeah they`ve had a tough year trying to defend their ranking points. Well wait to see how Novak copes under pressure next year, i mean its pretty impossible to defend the aussie open seeing as it was a fluke he won it. And with his retiring antics and arrogance, lets face it he aint going far next year :)

What do you guys think ?

  1. Djokovic may be considered arrogant, but I just think he's confident and that's why he's been successful. Sadly, Federer's confidence is on the wain as evidenced by his poor results this year (compared to previous years). The French Open for Fed was a disaster. If Fed doesn't win Wimbledon, I think the year end results will read....1. Djokovic, 2. Nadal, 3. Federer.

  2. Below are the points that he has left to defend for this year and of course the Aussie Open next year.  Also, remember that he won the Italian Open in Rome in May which Rafa lost because of blisters.  Although he has had an impressive run including 5 straight semi-final appearances in majors, his confidence will be very shaky in Wimbledon because he lost in straight sets to Nadal in Queens.  I agree he also has a bad habit of retiring that will hurt him in the blistering heat of the summer hard court circuit.  Go Fed!!!

  3. Ok..I was planning to leave a proper comment. However, I see that you just seek an opportunity to offend each other. I like all of you guys but this is becoming ridiculous. All three of them have to defend a lot of points. I just don't see the reason for making such a big fuss..and hey! Has any of you considered that MAYBE Novak, Roger and Nadal are not the ONLY ones who can play quality tennis. The real question should be: should all three of them be afraid of up-and-coming young tennis players?

    Edit

    Cool..spread the love!! :))))

  4. djokeo's biggest challenge this year is to

    walk the talk.

No-one can deny he has a big mouth.

He's like a blustering hot air wind.

Maybe it does his confidence good to run of at the mouth.

But it's boring and irritating to listen to.

And distracts from his playing which can be very inspired.

I dread him winning another grand slam -

although his head may get so big it will implode and put us all out of the misery that is Djokovic.

  5. Now that Roger is almost back to his best Novak is def gonna have a tough time defending his upcoming Roger's masters etc (I'm sure theres a reason its called the Roger's masters...) and he has alot of points to defend at the US open. From here on it gets hard for him, but it also gets hard for Rog. Its pretty funny the way Djok can't even get close to Rafa tho, hes turning into his bogey player (really not a good bogey player to have). I don't think Djok will have much confidence going into Wimbledon this year either, and if Rafa and Fed play well, well, I think he will be mightly disapointed. It'll be cool next yr how Rog will have lots of oppertunitys to win points. Novak will def have a tough time at the start of next yr, he will find out what its like to be a top ranked player for sure.Of course Novak fans will disagree, but we will see :)

Edit: Uh the French open was a disater fro Rog... he got to the final? God shows how much people expect of him these days if a final appearence in a grand slam is considered a disaster.

He just went thru Halle without dropping a service game... hes well back on track after the start oft his year, just admit it.

  6. This is a really poor question and it seems that you particularly dislike Djokjovic and this has come across in your question. This is not at all professional.

That aside, You might have a good point but think Djokovic could be the real deal. He has time and time again demonstrated true mental strength as well as real talent. I think Djokovic is there to stay and will only improve.

Defending the Aussie will be difficult but it was not a fluke-He beat Federer the 4 time champion in straight sets!

Yes ranking points will be hard to defend but still he can do even better at the masters events and could even win the US Open which is also hard court.

Novak Djokovic comes across as a highly intelligent human being who is very dedicated to his training and improving as well as his awareness of the state of the sport.

I suggest if you don't like Djokovic then fine. But make sure your opinions are stated as opinions rather than facts. This makes you seem very pompous and arrogant.

In future be more professional in your questions.

  7. This chick here isn't stupid she knows this is the only time of the year she'll be able to talk smack about Djokovic so she's jumping on it while she can. Come hardcourt season Nadal will be a non factor nursing some injury and Federer's best days are behind him so Djokovic has the best chance of the 3 as the guy above me said. I guarantee you that Nadal dude WILL pick up a serious injury between now and the US Open. You can't put that kind of strain on your body without suffering some consequences. I know he's trying to get to number one but getting there is gonna literally cost him an arm and a leg.

  8. Can u get any more childish? Listen, I am sorry if i hurt ur feelngs in any way. I think we should stop this stupid childish, b.s. and act mature, and appreciate these players while we have 'em around. What do u say? Truce?

  9. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are great. They are one level above Novak Djokovic but don't underestimate the Serbian. The truth is that Roger Federer is not getting any younger and Rafael Nadal already have bad knees so in the future Novak is a threat to both of them since he is the youngest of the three...

  10. Djokobitch is a beyotch azz h o e.

  11. oooohhhkkk... I'm a total Rafael Nadal too... but don't u think you're going too far dissing Djokovic and his fans? lolz...

  12. I'm not a big fan of Novak but I respect his game. I don't think he'll have that much trouble defending his points actually...most of them anyway. Novak is here to stay.

  13. I agree with you to some extent.  Of course it's going to be difficult to defend a grand slam!  All the best players are there.  How you call it a fluke, I really don't know.  Tsonga thoroughly defeated Nadal.  Nadal said afterward that it was due to Tsonga's amazing play.  Djokovic went on to beat him through a long, hard fought match I watched live(at 3 AM eastern).

Those two players were clearly playing the best at that tournament.  Also, he's had consistent results.  He's had nothing but victories and hard fought defeats against the best players this year.  He also shows no signs of slowing down, being he just made it to a final in the last open.

Though I agree with you about his kind of annoying shirtless retiring antics, and his confidence level such as it is being unjustified, I have no reason to believe from what he has shown so far that he won't be able to defend his points next year.
