Novellist set to claim King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes – Horseracing news
Novellist is looking in a great position to claim the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot in England.
The four-year-old colt will certainly be the outright favourite to succeed, as he has got a terrific record in the sport and his performances at the highest level have been consistently good. There was only one time in his career, when he dropped out of
the top-three, but things have been smooth for him otherwise.
Looking at his track record, trainer Andreas Wohler looked pretty much optimistic and said, “Novellist is on target for the King George. He came out of Saint-Cloud really well and is in good form. We have always believed in the horse and he is proving it
now. He has to improve a bit further to win at Ascot but he will head there in great shape.”
He added, “We have used a pacemaker for him in the past because he needs a strongly-run race, but he won't have one at Ascot because we think that there will be a good pace. We would be happy to have Ryan Moore on board again and it looks like he will be
available.”
It seems that no other challenger will be able to cause problems for the Irish stallion, who has got a great winning percentage. He has participated in a total of nine competitions, winning seven of them, which clearly shows what he is capable of achieving.
His victories have not come in smaller races and even the best in the business have struggled to match him on most of the occasions.
This year, Novellist has appeared in a couple of races and his performances were up to the mark as usual. He had to fight hard during his first race of the season, but still won it by a head distance in the end. However, he ran pretty smoothly next time
around, winning by more than one length.
Looking at the form and fitness of the talented stallion, it seems that he will remain undefeated until the end of the year. If someone manages to beat him at Ascot, it will be a great surprise for the entire horseracing fans.
