Novelty cake??

i want too make my lil boy ''the green sheep'' cake for his birthday. A few questions? what is the best way to make a novelty cake that has to be cut up alot to make the shape? i tried and it crumbled everywhere. does the cake need to be dense?

  1. don't cut the cake to make the entire cake just the sheep, instead go ahead and draw the sheep with icing on the square or rectangle cake, then make a background like simple hills and a sky with clouds if you like.  It's much easier and you won't go through a lot of cakes trying to cut them just to have them crumble all over the place.

    I would try to find a sheep cake pan...  I don't have kids so I wouldn't know but if it DOESN'T have to look alike that would probably be your best bet...

    On a Personal Level, I LOVE the first link and how it looks, You could use Food Coloring to change the color...
