November 27th: When the king lost his throne
Who can forget how the King fell. It was middle of the night and he was found passed out in his car after the accident. He watched his marriage end in front of his eyes with a large settlement, his career
crashed hard, he became a joke for many late night comedians and he fell from the world number one position with the tag of a serial adulterer.
That’s life, that’s how Tiger Woods spent his last year.
It’s hard to imagine that a year has gone by and Woods still hasn’t been able to manage his closely controlled personal life in the media. November the 27th proved to be one significant day in
the life of the mega star golfer Tiger Woods since nothing remained the same after that. It’s the day it all started.
With headline after headline describing Tiger Woods and his hobbies, till date they haven’t quite been able to describe what had actually happened that night. But what most could make out of them was that
the thirty four year old had crashed his SUV into a fire hydrant right in front of his house in Florida.
The golfer faced some major injuries and then disappeared for a long time till February after which his tales of adultery swarmed the news. Woods' trip after the hospital had everything other than recovery.
After February, the 1996 turned professional initiated his first press conference where he apologized for his previous acts and guaranteed to turn a new leaf. Other than apologizing for his actions Woods had also said that he might not play for the upcoming
season of 2010.
Woods however couldn’t resist turning back to his passion and appeared at the Masters in 2010. He finished at the fourth place but failed to grab a better result in the events following the Masters.
With the failed attempt to gather his golf ashes, he directed towards saving his marriage. Unfortunately things got worse and his wife Elin divorced him in the month of August.
Now if Woods is human, the past events might have got to him bad. A time when one loses his career, family and reputation all at the same time is not a child’s joke. Where many fear that Tiger may never be the same golfer he was
before, Woods has been trying hard to appear normal.
According to Woods, he is totally fine and considers starting over an impending factor. The man who holds 71 PGA Tour victories stated that he knows that he made mistakes and what he did is unforgivable but if people chose to make
fun of it then that’s something he cannot control. One thing he can control, though, is himself.
According to rumors, Woods is ready to move on. He went through a confession excursion recently which included his essay about how he redefined his victory. The essay described how the thirty four year old isn’t the man he used
to be last year and stated that he is now more grounded than ever.  The tour also included some interviews as well as a signing up of a new twitter account where he puts up positive statuses occasionally.
With all the efforts, Woods seems to be slowly turning the new page but the question is whether the golfer would be able to surpass Jack Nicklaus’ record of winning 18 majors. He would next be appearing in the 2011 Masters Tournament,
which will commence from the 7th of April. Woods will be looking to start fresh and hopefully prove to himself, more than anyone else, that the past has been somewhat buried.
