With the way Safina's playing, she definitely can. I believe Ivanovic can cruise all her way to the finals but if Safina reaches it, too, then she (Ivanovic) might be done for.

I go for Dinara Safina because she is playing the BEST tennis of her career and deserves it more than anyone else. She gave us one of the most memorable matches EVER kudos to her.

Safina is a serious contender for the title.

Ana Ivanovic in my opinion. She's been cruising through the French Open I think she has the best chance to win. I even thought she would give Sharapova a run for her money on clay.

Safina might win but I think that there's a greater chance for the either Jankovic or Ivanovic

Safina will fall to Dementieva in the quarters! Just watch it! It's the same case like Srebotnik! She's an underdog who beats one of the favorites and than lose to lower ranked player! Ana or Jelena are taking the title, depending of the semifinal clash between the two,of course,  if they stay injury free. However, I am routing for my favorite, the new Queen of Clay, JELENA JANKOVIC!!!!!

My sentimental favorite is Jankovic, but the way Safina has been playing, she is looking pretty good too.  The way she came back hitting a backhand winner at match point down in the second set, and again coming back from 5-2 down in the tie-breaker, she is really showing how much more mentally strong she is than in the past.  That was always the only thing keeping her from breaking into the upper tier of women's tennis, because she's always had the physical skills.  Ivanovic and Dementieva are also in good form, but I will be rooting for Jankovic.

I was so happy Safina took out the queen of screeching! Jankovic is my favorite to win. But I wouldn't count out Svetlana Kuznetsova...so its pretty much a toss up between these two for me. Of course, I want Jelena to win.

You phrased this question as if you actually thought Sharapova was going to win. I don't think she was anybody's favourite to win, except for her fans of course.

I would like Elena, Ivana or Safina to win, in that order....
