Now and forever film?

Question

I was just watching a few minutes ago the film but wasn't able to finish it, coz my parents fought and my dad decided to sleep on the couch..so he took over the television..i didn't really want to argue with him, coz i know he wasn't in a very good mood.......

does anybody know what the ending was?..thank u very much:)

I was in the middle of putting kittens to bed, so I don't have details. I know that she dies of her illness, with him at her side. However, it showed that he might have been murdered years ago, so it was his spirit who came to her when she needed him most. His father never said anything about it, so he obviously fully accepted that his son's ghost/spirit wanted to be near her to help her face death.

To me, it looked as if he confronted the boy who allowed her to be raped and was beaten to death and his body hidden. IMDb forum has this: JT was just your stock macho redneck and John threatened his sense of manliness, 'white is right' etc. Think about it: John pi**ed him off by getting in the way with Angela and punching JT out, then to top it off he witnessed them assaulting her and could have gone to the authorities.

I found something else that helps explain things. I saw JT digging at a pile of stones, obviously where he hid the body, because he saw Pico but knew that he had killed and buried him. The IMDb forum has this: He died because Angela's boyfriend kills him. That's why, when Pico's father sees Pico at Angela's house when she's sick, he says, "Son, it's been awhile." It's also why Pico never returned any of Angela's letters. and it's also why TJ panics at the end of the movie. He's seen Pico's ghost.

I would like to see this film again, especially because I'm an Adam Beach fan. If I find out more about it, I'll add the information. For some reason, no one at IMDb summarized it in a review.
