why are you asking your question in the Special Ed section? why do so many people in your country not understand that Special Education deals with people who have physical and/or mental disabilities?

If you are interested in C, C++, then do what you want.  The site below is encouraging for c++, although no language lasts forever.   I started with FORTRAN and worked my way through a variety of languages.  The logic and discipline  a person develops by learning a programming language  carries over into other parts of   work and life.
