It was such a hot topic prior to Christmas it is difficult to believe that the issue was resolved.Do you think the threat of lead poisoning was exagerated.?

  1. I think that the problem exists throughout the year.  It is just that at Christmas, when we are all buying toys for our children,

it becomes a political "hot potato".

International and global companies, who all profit from the sales of these toys at all times, know that at "Christmas," we in the western world, will be spending more on our children.

We will be more concerned about the dangers of toys than at any other time.  They introduce doubts into our minds about toys manufactured overseas, so we will buy much more expensive products which are produced in our own countries.

In truth the toys are still made in emerging countries (to the specification of the west)

In the end I think the problem is all about money, profit and feathering of the global nest egg rather than the safety of our children.

I hope this was not too cynical an answer.
