Now that I have my Eurail pass, how do I book my trains?

Every time I try to, it says I have to pay for the train, but I already have a pass. They are not high speed ones or sleepers, so I don't think I should be charged more. Is there a way to get around this?

  1. Check with a real travel agency to make and pay for train reservations.  Note that not all routes offer reservations.

  2. I never had any problem just reserving trains a day in advance once I got to Europe, and sometimes you can reserve it the day of travel, especially if you have a 1st class Eurail pass there are almost always plenty of seats.  One thing I did was I reserved several trains at a time, like when i first got to Paris, I made reservations for all the trains I would take for the next week in France, and some international trains that included France.  I showed them i had a railpass, and they only charged for the reservation fees and couchette supplements for night trains.  Don't bother reserving online before you go; it's really not necessary.
