h**l no.  David Wells?  eww.  Clemens would be average at best anyway, and a huge distraction and media frenzy.  Phil Hughes is probably coming back, and if anything, I'd rather have Jarrod Washburn than Wells and Clemens.

they arent signing someone for two months..hughes is ready to come back to the rotation after his rehab starts, and carl pavano is apparently ready to pitch in the bigs too..although pavano might have been the most overpaid player in the league the last 4 years, if he can pitch then he can pitch

NO ONE is gonna call Clemens at this point.....and Wells, please....They will wait for Hughes to heal and see what Pavano can bring.

Joba really doesn't seem like he is going to be out for long, so I don't see the Yankees having to pursue a new starting pitcher. I think they can deal with Rasner for 1 or 2 more starts, he did show potential when he was called up. Also, Hughes and Kennedy are doing good with rehab starts, Wang isn't gone forever. I think getting a new pitcher would be a waste off a roster spot for the Yankees.

Yankees may be down, but I still wouldn't count them out of play off contention considering they are only 3 games out for the wild card spot.

This just makes it more likely that they grab Jarrod Washburn off waivers. Either that or (maybe and) they go after free agent Freddie Garcia who worked out for scouts the other day. (not sure what initial reports on him right now are though)

They could always go after Freddy Garcia who is just know healthy and is readily available.  if not they will wait on Hughes and Pavano...Carl should be able to give them a few good innings before the arm falls off again!

I hear things about Jerrod Washburn. Just say no to David Wells. Clemmens is done.
