Now that McCain has promised amnesty to all undocumented in America how far in 2009 before we are granted amnesty ?Will congress also agree to amnesty in 2009 ? Will the dream act become law with the new “comprehensive reform” bill ?

In 2007, McCain's sponsorship of comprehensive immigration reform angered conservatives and very nearly derailed his presidential campaign.

At a Republican debate at the Reagan Library in January, McCain was asked whether he would still vote for his original measure.

"No, I would not ... because we know what the situation is today ... that people want the borders secured first," he said.

McCain's critics were reassured.

"The original proposal, I opposed. Sen. McCain's new proposal, I support, which is to ensure you have border security before you have any other type of reform," L.A. County Supervisor Mike Antonovich said. [...]

CNN asked the McCain campaign for a response to (Obama campaign's communications director, Robert) Gibbs' comments. A spokesman said, "Despite the wildly misinformed opinions of Barack Obama's spokesman, John McCain fundamentally believes that we need to secure our border, and then move forward to address the need for immigration reform in a respectful and compassionate manner that recognizes that we are all God's childrenhttp://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/06/21/mccain.hispanics/

  1. Yeah. I'm not losing sleep over it. McCain or BO are both lyers and losers. Whomever is elected will backpeddle and be the worthless losers they are ...for all of us to be assured of. Fear not.

Plus, the Pres does not make law. If that were the case the border would be open now and amnesty would be at hand.

Instead, you have one riled up nation on the issue of illegal immigration. IF congress passes any kind of amnesty, I think you will see war on the open plains. 75-80% of Americans want these criminals out. And there is lots to indicate the process has started.

They bad people are leaving. Justice seems to be coming back to ruling supreme.

What is God doing about the millions of people that die everyday on the planet. Do you think JM will be put in control of it all. Don't make me laugh.

  2. Yak Rider has a good point.  I think though, that while they are talking the talk, neither one want to tread on the mainstream support with amnesty.  However... McCain is clarifying his position, and it is totally unacceptable to me.

Obama has said he would obey the law of the Constitution.  If he does that, he will enforce the Immigration Law, and frankly, that would improve the circumstances of the United States a .very .great .deal.

Lets be clear.  What Mr. Bush is doing is superficial and almost entirely for show as I understand it.  We are receding from our goal while he paints the pretty picture with a very rotten base.  If Obama guarantees the Constitution, and I am waiting to hear that again frankly.. he has my vote.

I am, by the way, a very serious Republican.  McCain became the Presidential Candidate Elect .... I think ..... because President Bush arranged that, and that one is not acceptable to me at all.

Yes.. we are all Gods' children.  The trick is for our next President to convince the Mexican Government to do those things that support the illegal aliens they are sending north.  The trick should not be to demand the American People pay the cost of the cast offs from a corrupt and authoritarian government in Mexico City.  McCain better learn that one very soon too.

Not true and not gonna happen.

If all it takes is a president to want it,then why didn't W get it when he pressed for it?

Because the american people and the american legislature must also want it.

And they dont, as proven over multiple times.

How come you don't know that?  Why do you think it hasn't happened already--didn't W try?

  4. Boy are you going to be pissed when you find out illegals will never get Amnesty again, congress and Americans wont' allow that.  But at least you can hope, hey, it gives you something to do so eh : )

  5. It wont happen, he can't simply grant amnesty. Remember what happened when Bush tried?

  6. In the United States we do not elect a King.  The President of the United States cannot promise "amnesty" to anyone.

George W. Bush would just love to deliver amnesty.  Congress blocked him.  McCain and Obama would just love to follow in Mr. Bush's footsteps.  However, they, like Mr. Bush, will have to get a bill out of Congress giving them the authority.

Counting chickens before the eggs are hatched is almost always a bad idea.  Perhaps you should wait to see what happens after the election when the new Congress convenes.

  7. No President has the power to grant amnesty.  Ain't gonna happen.

If unemployment increases much more, there will be demonstrations in the streets demanding deportation of immigration-law violators and work permit holders over the next year or two.

  8. LOL, Mexicans actually believe politicians, how sad.

  9. Bush promised amnesty too...how did that work for him?

McCain promised to secure the border before any immigration reform.

  10. Joel W:

Obama needs to fix the 14th Amendment to prevent it from being twisted into millions of Anchor Babies.

Unless Bush wants it, it won't be a McCain policy. Bush operates the puppet strings on McCain and the world knows it.

IF, and that's a big IF--McCain wins the election, he will be far too busy directing soldier traffic globally to stop the flow across our porous southern border.

McCain will win if all the voters who's IQ matches their shoe size elect him and the smart people stay home that day.

McCain = Bush 3, THE SEQUEL
