The western media are still reporting lies about so called russian troop brutality in georgia, they are saying the civillians were treated like prisoners, tortured, etc. So invadeing a country like iraq while killing it's people in thier hundreds of thousands while stelaing the country's oil is not a crime??

  1. Russian army returned to the dislocation places like before that conflict. About oil : if you have other sourсes of oil and natural gas - you can decline Russian resource and live happy.

  2. 3. US and NATO always had double standards when it came to Russia its no different today.

They'll take any opportunity to show Russia is bad light even if its straight out lying.

  4. Oh for heavens sake, post your political bullshit on rambler instead of yahoo if you don't know the english language any better than that.  What on earth does "victimiseing russia" mean?  If russia is a victim, it's of her own stupidity.

  5. to Visor & tolstoyevski; the more Bandera lies you propagate the more damage you inflict on USA; a great power has no need in your mongrel yap-yap;

  6. Well you seem to be passionate about this, but possibly a bit uninformed.

There are plenty of Americans who put their heads in their hands when John McCain stood in front of the world and said, 'In the year 2008 sovreign countries don't invade each other'.  Yes - we saw the irony.

What the western press is responding to was the overwhelming force used by the Russians.  We're aware that Georgia probably incited a conflict by rolling their military in to protect the cessionist area.  But for Russia to bring their full military force into the cities and to begin raining down shells is unacceptable in today's age.  The speed of BOTH parties to move to force could have been handled diplomatically - either directly or through the UN.  No one is 'going after' Russia unfairly, because there is blame to share.  But Russia did act with disturbing force.

  7. I guess the United States still thinks Russia was wrong for going into Georgia in the first place

  8. Just because the US if full of a bunch of douche-bag Neo-cons doesn't mean you can justify Putin and his understudy from being a bunch of douch-bags as well.

  9. Sorry Mrs. Pravda, but the only country stealing oil is Russia.

The last time I checked, we were paying about $120/barrel for ours.

  10. If you talk bad about America, we send you Democracy.

  11. shut up

  12. The Western press is constantly critical of American actions in Iraq, so I wouldn't really say Russia is being specifically "victimised."

And you can hardly portray them as heroes coming to protect the poor Abkhaz and Ossetian peoples, when they themselves viciously crushed their own secessionist republic, Chechnya, in the very same Caucasus region.

The Russian action has made the political commentators in the press jittery, simply because its a very bad sign of things to come. People in Europe are nervous that Russia might continue this policy of annexation. What next, will they take on their giant neighbour Ukraine, with whom they have a long-standing dispute over possession of the Crimea region?

That would certainly be a conflict to fear. Unlike tiny Georgia, Ukraine is a behemoth the size of France and far more able to defend itself in a prolonged conflict.

  13. Russia is 100% victorious - done the work - LISTENED TO THE EU - and not any US clown - and is tonight back home - great, quiet , clean work - this is the most worrying you can do for other outsiders : ukrainians and co - show your muscles, quietly, and prove that you control yourself -

  14. Becuase Russia hasnt pulled out. They signed a treaty with Georgia but are actually moving further into Georgia.

  15. How do you know western media is reporting lies about Russian brutality?

Russian army is still in Georgia for your information.

Given Russian army's genocidal record and numerous brutalities all over the places why would they behave any different in Georgia now?

The fact that Russian soldiers were dumb enough to film themselves looting Georgian base stealing used shoes or the fact that they've killed 6 western journalists and robbed few more is also lie?

Ethnic cleansing officially announced by S.O. government is also a lie?

For the record, Russia according to the treaty promised to pull their troops out starting aug. 16. They did the opposite going deeper into Georgia. Then Russia started BS about technicalities, that the treaty was about pull back, not pull out.

Besides, how does pull out justify Russian brutality and looting or invasion of a sovereign country in any way?

Using your logic, if some guy comes to your house, kills your family members and robs you while at it, should be considered all clean and nice as soon as he leaves your house?

To kaksi_guy personally - If you 're so righteous I'd like to hear your comment on:

    1) Genocide of Ingushs in 1992 by North and South Ossetins with the help of Russian army.

    2) Genocide of Georgians, Greeks and Armenians in Abkhazia by Abkhazs, Chechens and of course Russian army.

    3) Continued Genocide of Chechen people by Russian army

    in last two Chechen wars.

If Russia is so bent on S.O. independence, which is pure BS because S.O. is asking to joing RF(Russian Federation), why was that the RF drowned in blood Chechecn republic killing over 300,000 civilians anyway? Let me remind you Chechnya wa exactly the same kind of autonomy as S.O. was in Georgia.
