to buy and drink American beer?

its one thing to be made here, but profits will only help the Belgian economy and Adam Smith said that if you help another country's economy then you are hurting your own.

GO USA!!!!

drink American...

and if there are no beers made by American breweries near where you live...DRINK THE HARD STUFF!!!

  1. People have this illusion that they had something in common with the pre-InBev CEOs of AB as Americans that some how warranted loyalty to the company.  CEOs should start a country all their own because putting your money in to the pockets of a rich American is just as removed from your day to day life as putting in to the pockets of a rich Belgian.

The working class citizens of the various AB product brewing states are still going to be getting paid in America with American dollars.  Nothing has changed aside from which select few are getting rich in the deal.

With that said I still vote that people drink craft beer, local if that's something you care about.

  2. If they made a better beer, I wouldn't have any problem drinking Bud, because there are a lot of Americans who will continue to make money off of working for them and selling the swill.

However, the beer is not all that good.  So, I won't be drinking it.

  3. Gah.

  4. Im totally with you...if you really feel that way, pick up a copy of Lee Iacoccas new book, Where Have All the Leaders Gone

I am doing my best to do spend my money here, buying from local businesses, etc...It is ALL of our responsibility..the sale of Bud should NEVER have happened!!!

  5. Budweiser will still be made right here in the USA, so plenty of your money will stay home in the form of PAYCHECKS for brewery employees.

With the globalization of today's economy, "Buy American" has lost a lot of luster.  "American" cars being made in Mexico, "Japanese" cars being made in the USA, etc etc etc.

  6. I don't give a **** what country owns the brand of beer I drink as long as it's reasonably priced and tastes good.

  7. The same amount the money from Bud purchases is still going to workers at the Bud factory and the American suppliers of Bud beer.

But sure, go drink the hard stuff, since I'm sure you've tracked the international ownership of all the liquor companies out there.

Like Bulleit, which is owned by Diageo, a British company.

But you knew that, right? And you know who owns George Dickell, right? How about Wild Turkey or Jacob's Creek? Malibu? Kahlua? Captain Morgans? Because they are all foreign: Diageo or Pernod Ricard.

You're welcome to drink whatever you want, support your country and inspire others to do so, but you might want to pick a method that has more impact on the US economy than boycotting Bud.
